Question:
`My hair always feels dry, I shampoo
all the time, but it doesn't seem to be getting better. Can you help me.
Answer:
Relax, here are a few suggestions to solve
your problem.
1. Shampoo your dry hair every other day. Shampooing washes out your hairs'
protective oils.
2. Use a mild gentle shampoo. Stay away from shampoos with extra heavy fragrances.
3. Use a shampoo with conditioning agents in it. When hair is dry on the outer
layer, or cuticle will begin to separate from the central shaft. Conditioners
will aid in bonding the cuticle to the shaft. Apply a moisturizing conditioner
and leave it in the hair for at least 5 minutes before rinsing. Always read
product labels for ingredients.
4. Dry hair should be trimmed every six weeks. When you remove the frayed ends,
your hair will have a healthier look.
5. Use of hair products like gels, mousses, etc.. should be free of alcohol.
Alcohol will dry your hair even more. Be sure to use a moisture styling gel
or mousse.
6. Be sure to use alcohol free hair sprays. Sprays with plant extracts help
dry hair look soft, bouncy and shining. Never use a spray that makes your hair
stiff or sticky.
7. When you use your blow-dryer, hold it at least six inches from your hair.
Use your fingers to remove excess water first, then begin brushing. Don't pull
the brush, allow it to glide through, gently.
